Easy Paneer Masala

This flavourful and satisfying dish is ready in under 20 minutes and can be whipped up any time you're short on time or need a meal inspiration.

About Me

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon ghee or oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon hing (asafoetida, optional)
  • 1 cup finely diced onion
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons minced ginger
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  • 2 teaspoons cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 cup diced bell pepper
  • 12 ounces paneer, cubed
  • 1/2 cup water or milk
  • 3/4 cup corn


Method:

  1. Heat ghee or oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter for a few seconds.add the hing now if using.
  2. Add diced onions and cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  3. Add garlic, ginger, tomato paste and cook for a few minutes
  4. Add the Turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, bell peppers, and salt. Mix well.Cover and Cook for a few minutes.
  5. Add water or milk, stir well, and cover the pan. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Remove the lid, add cubed paneer, corn, kasuri methi, and salt. Stir and taste for salt, adjusting as needed.
  7. Serve hot with roti, rice, or enjoy as a taco filling.
