Ingredients

For the Burger Patties:

  • 500 grams ground chicken
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon ghee or cooking oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped chilies (optional, adjust to your spice preference)

For Serving:

  • Brioche burger buns (or your favorite buns)
  • Sliced onions
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Cilantro chutney or Sriracha mayo sauce (optional)

Method

  • In a large bowl, combine all the patty ingredients. Mix well using your hands until everything is evenly incorporated.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes. This allows the flavours to meld and helps the patties hold their shape during cooking.
  • Heat a frying pan or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add a drizzle of ghee or oil.
  • Form the chilled burger mixture into 8 equal patties.
  • Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
  • Assemble your burgers! Toast the buns if desired, then layer with cooked patties, onions, tomatoes, and your choice of sauce.
